It’s Thursday. Let’s go.
Last weekend I spent time in Austin, TX with my team working on Performative Speaking online speaking school. Too many times people only see the Instagram version of a person’s life. Those perfect snapshots that aren’t real. Staged. Edited. Fake.
I don’t want to be one of those people. Creating a course is hard work. It wakes me up at 2 am, 3 am, 5 am on a regular basis. I try to go to sleep and I can’t because of the dread that I forgot something. Or an idea springs to mind and I need to get it taken care of at that moment.
I’ve abandoned many of my friends and other relationships over the past few months to put in the amount of work this requires. You may wonder why. It’s a fair question.
The answer is that I know what I can build. I know the value I can provide people. I know the vision I’m working towards.
Then it all pays off when I see two different friends put Performative Speaking in their newsletters. Multiple twitter threads or comments about the course begin to pop up. And I think…this is real. The unsexy day to day grind works. For example the phenom, Brandon Zhang wrote this…
And then I get videos like this from Cam Houser. A brilliant guy who teaches at UT works with high-level entrepreneurs and is building his very own WoP style video course.
So if you want to learn more about the course you can set up a call with myself or my team by going here: Performative Speaking online school
Or maybe you just want to sign up. If that’s the case you can enroll now.
Now for Three Things
I love and hate trivia. In this article this week you will see why. I also go into my C.A.P. system which I use when speaking. You will learn what that looks like and why Spiderman, Zelda, Game of Thrones, and Suits all make an appearance.

Compounding is real. It doesn’t feel like it at first but then it all happens. I started Twitter in June with 180 followers. As I write this today I am at 4,197 followers. It happened slowly until it happened quickly. Keep going.
“If you want the ultimate, you’ve got to be willing to pay the ultimate price.” Bodhi in Point Break
I watched Point Break the other night and was reminded how much that movie influenced me growing up. It still influences me and I think about these ideas pretty often. I want that perfect moment. That perfect wave. The Ultimate.
If you want to read anything else this week I would suggest this article about David Perell’s podcasting experience. Podcasting is only beginning and just like online writing has value, podcasting has tremendous value. Do more of it. It’s in my future as well.
That’s it this week. If you want to talk with me reach out to me by replying to this email.
