Hey yall…another Three Things Thursday.
We made it to issue 10. Double digits!
Its been quite a journey so far and I’m excited to see where we go on the march to Issue 100. But in celebration of reaching Issue 10, this is the perfect moment to have some big news.
Today, I’m sharing with you my most exciting project. I have been working non-stop to build out my Performative Speaking course and today is the day that it opens for registration. Cohort 1 signups are live.
Performative Speaking Cohort 1 Sign-up
The plan is to cap the course at 30 people. Maybe that goal is too low and you all will tell me there is much greater interest in learning how to become a better public speaker, listener, and communicator. All I know is that I’m incredibly excited and proud of the course I developed.
I’ve honestly talked with more people about course creation, community building, and public speak than I ever imagined possible but the end result is going to be amazing. If you’re interested but need more information, please reach out to me. I will answer every question and talk to anybody about this course, my philosophy, and my vision for the future.
Cohort 1 is just the beginning and I know those who join will look back the same way I look back at being a part of the early Crossfit days. There’s magic in being a part of a special community and that’s where I see this going.
This week I did another of my 1 take, no prep, no edits, no redo videos. This idea came from a tweet I received and I immediately jumped off twitter, turned on my camera, and did it live.
And now for Three Things
I had the pleasure of talking with Paul Millerd this week about persuasion and stories. It was a fascinating discussion as Paul has an incredible understanding of the consulting world, persuasion tactics, and speaking experts. In the few minutes we spoke before we recorded this episode, Paul dropped 3 different authors on my radar that I need to check out. He has this ability to recall a tremendous amount of information and make connections that most people miss. He’s one of the smartest and most inspiring people I’ve met.
Another win for the Twitter connection.

The lesson: Keep going.
I honestly would not be where I am today without Jack and Visualize Value. He showed me a way to turn knowledge and experience into a product. His courses are the reason I created the online course for Performative Speaking. None of this vision would be possible without his leadership and example.
I want to succeed for myself. I want to succeed for all of yall. I want to succeed for Jack.
“There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if we could become something more.” Nick Fury
I read this piece by David Perell: Hide Your Work
David is another one of the people who helped me get to where I am today with the launch of the Performative Speaking course. His Write of Passage class was a game-changer in my life. Just like I want to succeed for Jack, I want to succeed for David.
Let’s just say that this article sums up exactly what I’m trying to do with my vision. Work so hard that everything looks simple and people think they could do it. That’s the sign of greatness. Or as Don Draper says, “Make it simple, but significant.”
This week I will ask you two big favors. First, please share this issue. Second, please reach out to me if you have any questions or thoughts about the Performative Speaking Course. Thank you all for joining this journey.
